Barn Burner Series – Small Batch Beers in July
Every first Thursday of the month, limited release brews are blazin’ straight out of the Lyons, CO pilot brew barn. Stop into one of our taprooms – Boulder, Longmont, or Brevard and try something rare. Sip ’em at the bar, or grab a Crowler to go. This month’s release events are goin’ down July 5 starting at 5pm.
Details on the beers:
Bwahahaha Pacifica, 7.5% ABV We continually revisit this Single Hop IPA using a rotating hop selection because it’s one of our favorites. This month’s Bwahahaha spotlights New Zealand’s highly sought-after Pacifica hops, which are known for their huge aromatics and spicy, floral, marmalade-like orangey notes. A couple fun facts about New Zealand while we’re talkin’ about it: NZ was the first sovereign state to allow women to vote, there are tons of penguins there, and it’s the birthplace of commercial bungee jumping. Mad props, New Zealand!
Interstate SMaSH Mosaic, 6.9% ABV A double dry-hopped, heavily Mosaic-infused SMaSH (stands for “single malt and single hop”) named after our CO house band and pretty cool dudes, Interstate Stash Express. This SMaSH lineup features Root Shoot Pale malt on bass guitar. Meanwhile, Mosaic shreds on lead guitar with intense fruity, lemon citrus, and herbal notes. Set to the rhythm of a first wort hop addition, then a second whirlpool addition PLUS two dry-hoppin’s during fermentation; this SMaSH’ll rock your mouth-hole!
Lupu Lava Tropical IPA, 6.8% ABV This Tropical IPA pairs nicely with your favorite Hawaiian shirt. Get IPA’d, get lei’d, and beat the summertime heat with this citrus-y brew that features Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops. Mango, papaya, and guava are added during the second fermentation for another layer of sticky tropical fruit flavors. Tiny paper umbrella not included.
Gypsy Squid Extra Brut Pilsner, 5.0% ABV We wish we had eight appendages so we could octo-fist this super dry, refreshing pilsner. German pilsner malt and Citra Noble come together, then git fermented with lager yeast from Augustiner in Munich. The result is a champagne-crisp flavor with subtle floral and citrus characteristics – worthy of wrapping your tentacles around.
