- 4 eggs
- 1 ½ tsp of baking soda

- ½ tsp of salt
- 1 ½ cup of sugar
- 1 ½ cup of sour cream
- ½ cup of Steam Whistle
- 1 ½ tsp of vanilla extract
Topping & Filling:
- ½ cup of sugar
- 2 tsp of cinnamon

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease a 10-inch tube pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine baking powder, baking soda, salt and flour.
In a medium bowl, cream your butter and sugar together. Once mixed, add eggs, sour cream, vanilla and Steam Whistle to the mixture. Stir well for two minutes.
Next, pour this mix into the bowl with baking powder, baking soda, salt and flour. Again, blend them well for approximately two minutes.
Combine the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and walnut chips together in a small, separate mixing bowl to make the filling.
Back to the big bowl: add ⅓ of your cake batter into your greased 10-inch tube pan. Then, sprinkle ⅓ of your filling onto the batter, distributing as evenly as possible.
Repeat two more times until batter and filling are used up.
Place pan in oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the a toothpick can be removed cleanly from the cake and the top of the cake is a golden brown.
Enjoy!
Christmas Baking Tips Take it easy on the Steam Whistle while baking. You need to be focused on mastering this Christmas baking recipe and wowing your friends and family members with your mad baking skills.
Always PRE-HEAT! The bake times are set for an oven that’s at temperature, and failure to preheat can mess up your baking timeline, which can result in an epic baking fail.
Follow instructions carefully, using baking measuring spoons and cups to properly measure amounts. Also, mix wet and dry ingredients separately, as specified. This ensures properly distribution of the dry ingredients throughout the batter, which will result in a more flavourful, delicious Christmas dessert.
Don’t overcheck on your baking in progress. This can disrupt the temperature of the oven, and lead to wonky bake times, and an over or underdone cake. Check once or twice, max.
Happy baking!
