Three beers from the Silly Scotch Barrel Aged range have been rewarded by the international community of beer lovers, once again confirming the quality and originality of the know-how brewery of the brewery.
The results highlight three variations of Silly Scotch aged in wine barrels:
- Gold medal – Silly Scotch Sauvignon Blanc Barrel Aged
- Silver medal – Silly Scotch Chardonnay Barrel Aged
- Bronze medal – Silly Scotch Bordeaux Barrel Aged
These distinctions highlight the meticulous work carried out around aging in barrels, a technique which brings depth, complexity and new aromatic nuances to this emblematic beer of the brewery.
Untappd, the world reference for beer loversThe Untappd Community Awards are awarded on the basis of ratings and evaluations left by users of the Untappd application. This platform, today one of the most popular in the world of beer, allows fans to discover new references, share their tastings and evaluate the beers they taste.
Each year, the Community Awards reward the beers best rated by the community. In 2024, more than 1.5 million beers have been rated on the app. Among them, only 1.65% obtained a medal.
Receiving a distinction in this context therefore represents a particularly significant recognition, since it comes directly from the consumers themselves.
Silly Scotch revisited by aging in barrelsThe Silly Scotch Barrel Aged range was born from the desire to explore new expressions of Silly Scotch, one of the emblematic beers of the Brasserie de Silly. The principle is simple but demanding: let the beer age in barrels that have contained wine, so that the wood and the residual aromas of the wine gradually enrich its profile.
Depending on the type of barrel used – Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay or Bordeaux – the beer develops different notes: sometimes more fruity, sometimes more woody, with subtle nuances that evolve over the course of the tasting.
This work of patience and experimentation allows us to offer complex beers, at the crossroads of the brewing world and that of wine.
