Brasserie La Ferme au Chêne is a Belgian microbrewery in Durbuy.

History

In the 14th century, there are already two frank brassines in the town of Durbuy: the brassine of the Halle aux Blés and the brassine “Au Chesne”. Beer or beer is made with crushed barley pitch, sometimes with spelled. One brews “Hougarde”.

Around 1560, Philippe MARCKLOFF owns a brassine in Durbuy. He built the House “Au Chesne” on a square dominating the Ourthe. MARCKLOFF established in his vast house the second free brassine of the City. It therefore holds half the monopoly on the manufacture and sale of beer in Durbuy and neighboring villages.

In the year of grace 1989, on July 1, Jacques and Michel TRINE renewed the tradition. They create the MARCKLOFF in their establishment “La Ferme au Chêne” until June 2013 when the time of the retirement well deserved sounds.

Since August 2, 2014, a team of Durbuysians decided to continue the brewing adventure of the smallest city in the world. Keeping the building complex in operation is probably the best way to ensure it a future.
