News from Brasserie de Silly Return to News 3 medals for Silly Scotch Barrel Aged at the Untappd Awards For the first time in its history, Untappd awarded Community Awards to exceptional beers classified as the best by their 11 million users in 2023 ! Untappd is an app and social network dedicated to beer lovers. Created in 2010 by a team of beer enthusiasts in the United States, it helps connect beer lovers around the world.
Untappd is often translated as “Beer On Tap”, which means “cask beer” or even “Draft”. It is a social network where users share their beer tasting experiences. The Untappd app is available on the App Store and Google Play. It allows you to record beers, note their flavor, take a photo of the label and share your impressions. It also allows you to search for the most popular or closest bars and see what other members think about them. It promotes social interaction: sharing experiences and samples on Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and of course, on Untappd itself.
For the first time, Untappd is distributing prizes to all three top beers across all eligible substyles in all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., as well as the 50 countries with the most check-ins in 2023. More than 1.5 million beers were reviewed in 2023, meaning less than 1.65% of beers (25,302 total) won awards. Impressively, almost 30% of brewers (7,427 in total) produced an award-winning beer! The Silly brewery obtained 3 medals (gold, silver and bronze) in the Scotch Ale category:
- Silly Scotch Pessac Léognan Barrel Aged: gold medal
- Silly Scotch Chardonnay Barrel Aged: silver medal
- Silly Scotch Nuits-St-Georges Barrel Aged: bronze medal.
Unfortunately, two of these beers do not are no longer available: Silly Scotch Pessac Léognan Barrel Aged and Silly Scotch Nuits-Saint-Georges Barrel Aged. Some customers still have them in different countries. Fortunately, for everyone else, the Silly Scotch Sauvignon Blanc Barrel Aged is available in a limited edition and the feedback has been very positive!
