March 1, 2018 The Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (CHCA) at George Brown College honours Beau’s with recognition of culinary, hospitality and tourism trailblazers across Canada
Vankleek Hill, Ontario’s Beau’s Brewery has been designated by Ontario’s George Brown College as the newest “Canadian Treasure,” an initiative launched in 2017 through which the accomplishments of culinary, hospitality, and tourism trailblazers across Canada are recognized and celebrated. Beau’s co-founder and CEO Steve Beauchesne accepted the award at a ceremony in Toronto last week, where Beau’s was honoured for its award-winning and certified organic craft beer, its commitment to being family-run and independent, and its consideration for the environment and local communities.
“We are thrilled to recognize this outstanding organization as our fifth Canadian Treasure, joining past honourees including Norman Hardie Winery (Prince Edward County, ON), Food Day Canada, Devour! The Food Film Fest (Wolfeville, NS), and Mission Hill Family Estate Winery (Kelowna, BC),” says Lorraine Trotter, Dean, CHCA, George Brown College. “Each organization illustrates unique and diverse aspects of the culinary, hospitality and tourism sector, and contributes to the industry in a meaningful way. They all share the passion, innovative spirit and exceptional attention to quality that has made Canada a growing international destination.”
