Beau’s new IPA isn’t just juicy … it’s Juiced AF

March 20, 2023Beau’s Brewing Co. is bringing its new IPA recipe to market this March: a 6.5% ABV hazy IPA called Juiced AF. While the cheeky name might be the first thing that catches folks’ attention, the beer delivers on the promise, with ripe aromas, juicy fruit flavour, and the dense appearance of a freshly squeezed glass of tropical fruit juice. Juiced AF will be made available in both Ontario and Quebec.

Hazy IPAs are perfect for craft beer drinkers who love juicy hop flavour, but don’t want the aggressive, bitter hop character that we associate with West Coast IPAs,” explains Brew Master Erica McOustra, who developed the new recipe for Beau’s. “The largest dose of hops is added during fermentation, using a technique called biotransformation, which highlights tropical aromas in the hop varieties we’ve selected. We dry-hop again post-fermentation to get big hop aromas and flavours, without extracting much bitterness.” She adds: “Juiced AF is low on the bitterness scale at 30 IBUs, but the hops are still the defining feature of this beer.”

Juiced AF pours hazy gold, with ripe aromas of pineapple, orchard peach, and citrus fruit. Flavours are juicy and tropical with a hint of sticky resin. Wheat and oats contribute to a creamy and silky mouthfeel. It offers a clean finish, with lingering hops. Within the larger world of beer styles, Juiced AF fits into the category of New England IPAs (NEIPAs), most notably defined by Vermont brewery The Alchemist’s Heady Topper.

Juiced AF will sell in 473 ml cans for $3.75 at Ontario LCBOs, with a special pack-up price for 24s at The Beer Store of $78.95. It will be available later this spring in Quebec at grocery stores and depanneurs wherever craft beer is sold. Beau’s offers its full portfolio of beer for home delivery in Ontario at shop.beaus.ca.
