It’s not everyday that our goal here is to brew a beer that’s meant to command your attention with intense characteristics. We celebrate the fact we like to keep a diverse portfolio of beer, and as we grow, intensity is something that we’re going to have to take a shot at every once in a while. So far we’ve taken on those challenges with releases like Six Seam, Kill Your Idles: Tropical, and most recently (and still available) Double Crossroader. We took that challenge of amplifying key flavors and aromas to our most popular recipe. This Wednesday will mark the debut of Double Citra Four Seam.
So is this Double Dry Hopped Four Seam?? I wouldn’t go as far to say that. This is still our Citra hop focused flagship IPA with the same amounts of supporting hops: Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe, Columbus, and El Dorado. We’re still keeping our rich foundation of tropical mango and passionfruit flavors and aromas. We’re still keeping the balanced bitterness that snaps the palate back to attention and ready for the next sip. But, what we are doing is doubling down on the citrus fruit character. Expect amplified flavors of grapefruit juice with an extra hint of candied orange peel in the aroma. With that added citrus kick, you’ll be looking for rich and fatty foods to pair with it; think along the lines of soft washed rind cheeses, buttered and sautéed vegetables or with slices of aged salumi.
If you aren’t in the mood for an extra dry hopped IPA, we also have two of our favorite lagers coming off the canning line on Wednesday as well! We’ll be happily welcoming back our beloved helles lager, Heide and house zwickelbier, Emelyn! If you know us well, you’ll know we are all very excited here to see these two return on tap and in easy to-go formats. So if you’re looking for that heavy hitting flavor or just want something nuanced and refreshing, you know we’ll have you covered! Cheers!
