When they couldn’t find what they were looking for, they decided to set up their brewery and make those wild blends themselves. Fast forward a few years later, Blazing Tree now has 15 to 20 high-quality beers on tap, the likes of which you have never tasted before. Order a flight to sample all the fun brews.
Offerings include a Peanut Butter Brown Ale, a Pecan Porter, a Mandarin IPA, and White Rabbit (a sweet stout with agua de coco and Mexican chocolate). Don’t be fooled by this establishment’s modest size; it’s big on flavors and worth your while.
Craft Rhythm & Brews1301 Texas Avenue El Paso, TX 79901On the corner of Texas Avenue, right in front of the railway lines, this female-owned establishment is showing the boys how it’s done. The industrial-style taproom has a lady’s touch with a bright red wall and door that leads to the brewery and red tables and chairs that welcomes guests right as they walk in.
The beers on tap are some of El Paso’s most refined, especially the sours. SheDoBeTart Gose, made with pink Himalayan sea salt and lemon, will make your lips pucker and have you craving more. Other favorites include 1301 Vanilla Porter (made with Mexican Vanilla) and Trauma Nuts Brown Ale (a brown English ale with notes of hazelnuts, peanut butter, and pecans). You will be hard-pressed to find beers as elegant as these.

Don’t be deceived by its simple, run-of-the-mill bar interior; their brews pack a punch. With ten different beers on tap, delightful ones include the Mazapan Brown Ale (an IPA with marzipan candy, caramel, chocolate, and roasted malt), “The StrawGasm” Stout (deep rich malt beer with strawberry, chocolate, and coffee notes) and the Hazy Cherry Blonde (a blonde ale made with sweet cherry with biscuity flavor).
Dead Beach Brewery406 Durango Street El Paso, TX 79901Dead Beach Brewery has one of the best outdoor seating areas in El Paso, with high tables, comfy stools, shaded seating, and filament lights winding around tree trunks. It’s the perfect place to catch up with friends after a long day at the office. The quality beer is brewed, kegged, canned, and distributed from this facility, so it’s coming right from the barrel straight to your table. They have some strong flavors and keep updating their lineup. Popular blends include The DeachBeach IPA, Chi-Hua-Hefe ( a German-style wheat beer with notes of clove and banana), and Abuela Stout (a double stout overflowing with Mexican chocolate).

Aurellia’s Bottle Shop & Brewhouse1620 North Resler Drive El Paso, TX 79911The future has reached Aurellia’s. This modern brewhouse is like no other in the state. There is an actual artificial intelligence system managing the brewing process. It keeps track of the energy used and flavor blends while staying sustainable with mathematical precision. The name “Aurellia” is an acronym for the AI system running the show. It stands for The Automated Ubiquitous & Revolutionary Experimental Logarithmic Libation Inception Apparatus. Whew! That’s a mouthful.
The sleek contemporary exterior and futuristic industrial interior reinforce the ultramodern vibe. Massive windows behind the bar see right into the laboratory-style brewery. The patio is dog-friendly and has an incredible view over West El Paso.
It might seem a little gimmicky, but the popularity speaks for itself. The brewpub is packed with patrons enjoying one of the ten house brews (or guest brews) on tap. Favorites include the Baseline ( a West Coast Style IPA), Golden-Age (a Helles Lager), and Satori, a rice lager with yuzu fruit and lemon.
The food menu is extensive. There are soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, tacos, burgers, pizzas, desserts, and a chef’s special that changes every week. If you want to try the ultimate in Tex-Mex fusion, then the Quesadilla Cheeseburger is the one for you. Housed in between two crispy fried tortillas is a juicy 8 oz beef patty covered in melted cheese and topped with jalapeños, diced tomatoes, fresh shredded cabbage, and sweet and spicy Cabo sauce.

Known as the Texas 20 by locals, this roadway used to be the only way to get from San Antonio to Los Angeles before Interstate 10 was made in 1959. Many drivers still use the Texas 20, and this brewery has become a rest stop for many a weary traveler to sit back, swap stories, and de-stress.
The atmosphere is about making new friends while sharing some good beer. They are known for beers with tropical flavors like these year-round brews: Pa’Chuco Pale Ale, Lagartos Red Ale, and Sun City Helles Premium Lager, and seasonal favorite the Poppy Chulo Blonde.
Their kitchen uses authentic Mexican spices to cook up nachos, quesadillas, and chips with salsa. There are even classics like pizza, sandwiches, and even popcorn. And if you’re not in the mood for an ale, they have a great coffee bar with Espressos, Americans, Lattes, Chai, and herbal teas. The beer here isn’t complicated, but it doesn’t have to be because nothing bets a high-quality classic. Must-tries include Ol’ Yeller (a classic American pale ale), Blonde Redhead (golden ale with a hint of Mexican chamoy), and De La Palma (a New England IPA with coconut).
The food menu is concise but has classic Mexican fare you expect for El Paso, like nachos, tacos, and quesadillas. They host food events throughout the month with local food trucks that come on-site to spice up the nighttime snacking. Old Sheepdog is vibrant yet laidback, making it a pleasant place to kick back and enjoy those cool desert nights.
