Brewery De Dochter van de Korenaar “Doughter of wheat farmer” is a Belgian microbrewery to Baarle-Hertog in Antwerp.
History
The brewery was founded in 2007 by Dutch couple Monique and Roland Mengerink. They built behind their house handedly brewing plant including six lower tanks of 1000 liters. With this system you can brew 150 hectoliters per month. Called “Daughter of the Corn” refers to the word beer. In ancient chronicles Mechlin was found that Emperor Charles V around 1550 favored the “juice of De Dochter van de Korenaar” (beer) above the “blood of grapes” (wine). In 2009, Ronald Mengerink got the “Gouda Beer Prize”. In 2011 he won “silver” at the Zythos Beer Festival with Embrasse Peated Oak Aged and a silver medal at the European Beer Star Awards with L’Enfant Terrible. In 2013, their new beer Ecstasy achieved consumers trophy on the Zythos Beer Festival.
