Volkssekt Berliner Weisse
Volkssekt Berliner Weisse is an American beer, it has an alcohol content of 3.8%.
This traditional German sour wheat ale was described by Napoleon’s troops as “The Champagne of the North” when they occupied Berlin in 1809. Volkssekt (“The People’s Champagne”) was brewed with 50% German Pilsner malt, 50% German Malted wheat, gently hopped with the German noble hop variety Hallertau, and soured with lactobacillus. The result is a light beer with very little bitterness, a clean citrus-like tartness, and a refreshing yet soft finish.
