Brewery Alternative is a small brewery in Izegem.

History

The beer company was founded in 2005 by beer lovers Christine and Peter Opsomer Salomez. Piet Salomez followed a course for hobby brewers in Alvinne and brewed his first beer for a contest for amateur brewers. This beer was the winner in the category “blondes” and was named Hiccup blonde. A first brew 400 liter brewed by Piet in the brewery Alvinne Ingelmunster and commercialized. There are by Alternative currently eight different beers on the market. Because they do not yet have their own brewing equipment includes the beers are brewed at the brewery Alvinne or brewery De Graal Brakel.

The brewery also supported Alternative brewery Picker from Poperinge for the finalization of their beer “Single Green Hop” 2012.
