The Brussels Beer Challenge 2019

The Brussels Beer Challenge, international ambassador of beer culture, organized its eighth edition, from November 1 to 3, at the brand new congress center in Mons, the MICX (Mons International Congress eXperience). During this competition, 1,650 beers from 35 different countries were tasted over three days by ninety international judges. Belgian brewers presented their best beers and faced the world’s top brewing productions. The results were communicated on Monday 18th November afternoon at Horeca Expo in Ghent. Belgian beers have collected 76 awards, including two for the Brasserie de Silly. The United States comes in 2nd position with 46 awards. Italy comes third with 24 awards, ahead of the Netherlands (21) and China (18). As a family brewery, we are very proud to have obtained these distinctions, against so many national and international competitors, including giants. This encourages us to continue our quality efforts at all levels: brewing, packaging, delivery, customer service.

La Silly Saison

La Silly Saison is a fermentation beer. high, of type Season. It is an amber beer that has an alcohol content of 5% by volume. It is a light and pleasant to drink beer. It contains aromatic malt, Kent and Hallertau hops. The Silly Saison is both fruity and slightly sweet with a fresh aftertaste. It offers a pleasant feeling of freshness. It is available in 33 cl and 75 cl bottles as well as 20 liter barrels. La Silly Saison won the gold medal in the Pale & Amber Ale category: amber aging beers.

SILLY Scotch Pinot Noir Barrel Aged

La Silly Scotch is a dark beer of high fermentation, of the Scotch type, which has an alcohol content of 8% by volume. Her dress, a beautiful coppery red, is matched with beige foam. Its complex nose is reminiscent of brioche with raisins, candied fruits and fresh raspberries. Generous and full on the palate, almost syrupy, it evokes honey and caramel before ending with notes of prune and roasted malt. Each year, the Brasserie de Silly ages its Scotch in barrels of different styles. The previous editions were aged in oak barrels of Bordeaux, Port, Cognac, Whiskey, Chardonnay, Nuits Saint Georges,… This year, aging in barrels of Pinot Noir, typical of Burgundy wines, gave Silly Scotch a flavor. subtle and unique. The Silly Scotch Pinot Noir Barrel Aged is available in a 75 cl bottle. She won the silver medal in the Flavored Beer category: Wood / Barrel Aged higher than 10 ABV.
