Posted on August 7, 2026November 6, 2026by Brecht FestjensAn evening to look back onWith this newsletter we would like to look back on the past crowdfunder evening with gratitude.
On May 30, we came together with the crowdfunders for our annual crowdfunder evening.
We started with a welcome aperitif. A taste of a malt port, an experiment based on the principle of port, but with malt instead of grapes. Definitely a successful drink that you will hear more about later.
After the aperitif there was a little word about the past year and what we will continue to work on in the coming year. We discussed our vision on whiskey distilling and our identity in the whiskey landscape.
After the welcome word we came to the most important part of the evening: the tastings. Together we tasted the new make of our very first whiskey that will be bottled next year. A nice fruity spirit with sufficient malt aroma. Still very young and spirited, but with a lot of potential. We then tasted the expression of that potential: we tasted the now 2-year-old whiskey from the barrel. You could see the comparison with its new make, but after 2 years it has already matured nicely and is almost ready to be bottled. Our last taste was the new make of the peated whisky. A fruity and malty spirit with a light smoky touch.
It was a beautiful and pleasant evening that we enjoyed. If this has made you thirsty, you can still register via one of our various crowdfunding formulas. An incredible amount has already happened within the brewery and distillery. In the meantime, we can proudly say that we have 19 whiskey barrels and that the stock continues to grow. We do need your help in our search for interesting barrels for our next whiskies. If you know where we can find nice barrels, please let us know.
