Episode 11: Lagered Tales, presented by Beau’s March 12, 2019 Sláinte! Jameson Irish Whiskey and Beau’s, Quebec City Celtic punks Irish Moutarde, East African social enterprise The Women’s Bakery, BAD DAYS

#BeausStPats is coming soon, so we’re kicking things off with an Irish theme in this 11th episode of Lagered Tales. (Can you believe it? This is the penultimate episode of season one of the Beau’s podcast! It’s growing up — our experiment in storytelling from a craft brewer’s point of view — how far we’ve come.)

First off, in this episode we break down our partnership with Jameson Irish Whiskey, discussing how we earned the distinction of becoming one of the renowned distillery’s Caskmates collaborators, and also how we aged our Strong Patrick Irish-style red ale in real Jameson casks. Bonus: Check out a short video featuring Jameson Head Cooper, Ger Buckley, visiting Beau’s and trying out some Strong Patrick.

Second on the docket is our feature interview with (the fluent English-speaking member of) Quebec City Celtic punk band Irish Moutarde. You can catch ’em at Beau’s St. Patrick’s Party in Ottawa, Saturday, March 16, by the way. Expect a grand ol’ time.

We’ll also hear a fascinating story about The Women’s Bakery, an East African social enterprise with a few similarities to the Rwanda Craft Brewery Project. Check out past episodes for more info on our ongoing efforts in helping establish the first women-owned and -operated craft brewery in Kigali, Rwanda.

Finally, we cap things off with a fun segment about BAD DAYS. A little schadenfreude, anyone?
