La Divine, a strong and divinely good amber beer

Leave a comment / / By Xavier ToubeauIt was in 1990 that Jean-Paul Van der Haegen devised the recipe for the Divine. Jean-Paul is a brewing engineer trained in Ghent. He is the father of Bertrand, one of the two managers of the Brewery. It was at the request of a beer merchant in Liège, who came up with the name and wanted a strong beer, that it was created. Since alcohol inhibits the effects of yeast, we had to find one that met the specifications. The Divine recipe was made from the blonde Double Enghien. We increased the density with more raw materials and quality hops. The fermentation time has been extended, which makes it a beer to keep. La Divine is an amber beer, top fermentation, triple type. Its soft and velvety aroma gives off a hoppy and woody flavor. It releases a very fine bitter or even smoky and alcoholic taste in the back of the mouth. Mmmmh. You will see, it is divine.
