Introducing the American Lager– a brilliant, dry, hoppy, American pilsener beer. One night, on the way down the rabbit hole of sleuthing the American lager brewing traditions, a near-complete breakdown of the process, ingredients, and flavor profile of Schlitz lager was discovered. This beer follows those clues to re-create what industrial lager tasted like in the mid-1930’s. American lager brewers were obsessed with replicating the famous hop/pitch bite of Pilsner Urquell, and as a result, the pale lagers in this era actually had quite a bit of hops in them. Cereal mashed corn grits, double decocted with American 2-row barley, and hopped to 30 IBU with the finest noble hops.⠀

4.3% ABV // 30 IBU // 11.0 P

HOPS: Hersbrucker, Spalt Select

MALT: 2 Row Pale, Carahell, Corn, Pilsener
