Season of Silly

The springtime beer par excellence is the Silly Season. When Marcellin Meynsbrughen, founder of the Brasserie de Silly set up the family farm in the center of Silly in 1850, he began brewing a beer season to occupy himself in winter. This beer was then served to seasonal workers who came to help Marcellin on the farm. Workers working hard on the farm and on the fields, they quenched their thirst with the Silly Season while working. They ate on average 5-8 liters of Silly Saison beer per person per day! Today the Silly Saison is still brewed according to the same traditional Marcellin Meynsbrughen recipe, it is a light beer, refreshing, slightly hopped with a touch of acidity. A perfect beer after working in the garden to remember the hard work the farm workers did in 1850. Nevertheless it is to be enjoyed in moderation and not to drink abundantly as in the past. The Silly Season is like you will have understood the perfect beer that will accompany you on the sunny days of spring and summer. Health!
