Steenberge invests in state-of-the-art water treatment
As a brewery with roots in the late 18th century, we know better than anyone that innovation is crucial. That is why our water treatment installation is receiving a major, future-oriented update.
The new water treatment installation operates with a fine-bubble aeration system, making the aerobic purification process much more energy-efficient. At the same time, the use of advanced MBR technology (biological filtration) significantly improves the effluent quality of the water. Finally, the eye-catcher is the implementation of a CCRO system (Closed-Circuit Reverse Osmosis): this allows us to reuse up to 80% of our treated wastewater in the brewery’s production processes.
Furthermore, because the complete process water treatment is integrated, all water flows will henceforth be centrally controlled.
This is how we continue to brew towards a sustainable future, drop by drop.
