Elk Lake IPA is an American beer, it has an alcohol content of 6.2%.
This beer is crafted in the style of ales sent to India to keep British troops happy while they occupied India. It was brewed to be very bitter and alcoholic so that it could withstand the agitation and extreme temperatures of a long journey by ship. The preservative and stabilizing effect of increased hops and alcohol were necessary for the ale to arrive in good condition.
